Strengthening the Resilience of Critical Entities

Strengthening the Resilience of Critical Entities

Greece has adopted Law 5236/2025, transposing Directive (EU) 2022/2557 on the resilience of critical entities. The new framework strengthens the preparedness of organisations providing essential services—such as energy, transport, digital infrastructure, health, and public administration. It introduces clearer obligations on risk assessment, resilience planning, and incident notification, while also enhancing the supervisory powers of the national authority. The law aligns with the EU’s CER Directive and complements the NIS2 regime, aiming to safeguard the continuity of critical services and reinforce cooperation at national and EU level.
