Greece has completed the operationalisation of its national foreign direct investment (FDI) screening mechanism with the issuance of Ministerial Decision No. 64260/2025, which sets out the procedural rules and documentation requirements under Law 5202/2025. The Decision transforms the FDI framework into a fully enforceable administrative process, clarifying the competent authority, filing channels, and the scope of information required from foreign investors. As a result, transactions falling within the regime must now factor FDI screening into deal planning, due diligence, and closing mechanics, with non-compliance potentially leading to sanctions and legal uncertainty.
