The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published its Final Report on Guidelines on Environmental Scenario Analysis (EBA/GL/2025/04), introducing a structured framework for assessing the long-term impact of environmental and climate-related risks on business models and resilience. The Guidelines complement the EBA’s work on ESG risk management and form part of the EU’s broader sustainability agenda under CRD VI. Applicable from 1 January 2027, they set out governance, proportionality, and implementation principles to help institutions anticipate environmental change, strengthen internal risk assessment, and align with the objectives of the EU Green Deal.
